T1 TV Phone Versus CECT I9 – Which of These Popular IPhone Clones Would Work Better For You?

November 18th, 2011 by admin No comments »

If you hold the CECT i9 and the T1 side by side, they look very similar (in fact, the T1 phone is often called “the i9 with TV.” Both are based on and look almost exactly like the iPhone, but there are some key differences (and in my opinion improvements) that are stand outs. I’ll go over these things in the following article and will also compare some of the features.

Analog TV and The T1: The main place where these phones differ is that the T1 has analog TV and the i9 doesn’t. The phone has an antennae that pulls out when you want to use the television. There is no additional cost, software or monthly fee for this. The antennae picks up local station’s signals. Of course, you won’t get cable, but you can pick up local channels (news, sports, sitcoms, etc.) and if you want to want to watch cable shows or movies, you can typically do that on line with the phone’s web browser and you can watch MP4 movies on the built in movie player (The 9 allows this as well, just not the analog television.)

Shake And Tilt: One thing that a lot of people love about the 9 is that it has the swing to the music or shake and tilt feature. This allows you to advance your songs, movies, wallpapers, etc. by sort of flicking your wrist or shaking the phone. Most T models do not have this, so if this feature is a must have for you, then the 9 may be a more reasonable choice.

Java: The i9 has Java and this is a huge selling point of it. The original P168 iClone was a huge seller, but it didn’t include Java which didn’t allow for all of those cool third party downloads like Mobile Office (PowerPoint, Word, etc.). There are some T1s that don’t include Java. However, some do so just read the description to make sure. Not having Java is not a deal breaker for everyone as most people who are interested in this phone really want it for the TV.

What They Both Have: Despite the differences that I’ve just pointed out, both of these phones function quite similarly. They’re both loaded with features. Both have the large 3.2 inch touch screens that have the menu flow control. Both are quad bands and both have dual sim slots which allows you to have two phone numbers, networks, or plans. (Many people will have one cheap talk plan in one slot and another pre paid data plan sim in the other. This saves a lot of money on monthly contracts.)

Both phones allow web browsing (opera mini is popular on these phones.) Both have email and SMS / MMS. Both have MP3 / MP4, digital camera / web cams, FM radios, and ebook readers. There are also tools like calendars, to do list, currency converters, Bluetooth, etc. The battery life on both is very good. There are USB cords to transfer data and each can hold up to 8GB of memory.

So, Which Is Better?: That depends on which phone’s features work out being better for you. If you are dead set on real time TV, then the T1 is an obvious choice. But, if the TV isn’t absolutely necessary and want Java or shake and tilt, the best selling i9 may fir the bill.

Samsung U900 Soul Mobile Phone Review – Get Soul With the Ultimate Music Phone

November 16th, 2011 by admin No comments »

Samsung has undoubtedly made an impact on the mobile phone world in recent years with its fantastic music handsets and some equally brilliant camera phones but they have not really managed to pull off both in the same handset without any issues arising. As a result, many individuals were sceptical when the new Samsung U900 Soul was unveiled and promised to do both. The question is, has it?

The answer to that question is largely dependent on who you ask. People either tend to love this phone or **** it but the vast majority of people fall into the former category. The one thing people do agree on though is the appearance of the phone itself. The Samsung U900 Soul is a stylish and classy handset. It is very slim and has been specifically designed so that critics will label it as elegant. It is smooth to the touch and has a metallic finish that is difficult to better in terms of its mass appeal.

The Samsung U900 Soul is a slider and the mechanism is absolutely wonderful. It slides open quickly and easily. The 2.2″ 240×320 pixels TFT screen is beautifully embedded into the casing and displays 16 million colours, which makes it perfect for viewing the wonderful images you can take using the 5MP camera. However, it is the keypad underneath that causes the most praise and criticism at the same time. The keypad actually changes to display icons that are associated with the function you are using on the Samsung U900 Soul at any given time. For the experienced user, this is a wonderful touch that makes navigation a whole lot easier, but it is difficult to get used to if you have technophobe tendencies.

Now on to the comprehensive features. The Samsung U900 Soul has 3G connectivity and so gives you many options for sharing and uploading music and images. It also has the standard FM radio that the vast majority of phones have today. However, it is the combination of the 5MP camera and the Bang & Olufsen enhanced music player that has attracted the majority of its fans.

The camera the Samsung U900 Soul packs is simply brilliant. It enables both image and video to be taken on the phone, all of which is of a high quality and subject to the extras built into the camera. It has auto focus and face detection to ensure that you can take high quality pictures for display on the equally high quality screen. The music player gives the highest quality of audio to be found in any phone and supports all of the major file types so you can listen to your tune on your own terms as and when you please.

Given the above features, you would think that the memory would be at least 1GB. However, the inbuilt memory is only 128MB. It can be supplemented with a MicroSD card but it is slightly disappointing that Samsung did not think about this in advance. Aside from the slight issue, the Samsung U900 Soul is a highly likeable handset and is worth a look. If you want it all in a phone then it will certainly not disappoint!

Cell Phone Etiquette Is All But Non-Existent

November 15th, 2011 by admin No comments »

Forewarning: I went on a bit of a rant as I wrote this article. I have noticed, as I am sure you have, that cell phones are becoming a problem. So much so, in fact, that I felt I had to publish an article on the topic!

Cell phone etiquette this day and age is appalling. We live in a virtual world, constantly plugged in, reliant on our cell phones.

It wasn’t long ago that cell phones did not even exist, and if they did they were carried around in a brief case.

Now everyone has a cell phone and it is destroying our manners and social skills. People stop in the middle of foot traffic to answer texts, there are countless auto accidents due to people trying to operate their phones while driving, and people feel it is alright to get out their phone and text while another person is trying to hold a face to face conversation with them. People even have the audacity to text and answer calls at the dinner table!

If you are texting or messing with your phone while in another’s company you are not respecting your time with that person. Whether you are talking, watching a movie, eating, or driving, it doesn’t matter. Turn your phone off!

Also, don’t answer your phone in public places like libraries (obviously), movie theatres (obviously), restaurants (obviously), etc. It is very distracting and rude, people are trying to focus, trying to pay attention to something, and trying to enjoy a meal. When someone is talking on the phone it completely monopolizes other people’s attention. If you have to take the call step outside, go somewhere noisy, talk discreetly where no one will be bothered.

Also, keep your ringer turned down, or better yet put it on vibrate. Whether or not you step outside and are polite after the ring doesn’t matter. When you are sitting in one of the places mentioned above and a loud, obnoxious ringer goes off it completely disrupts your concentration and train of thought, it is very rude and very distracting.

Unplug once in a while, whether you are in a public place or are by yourself it is not healthy to be constantly clutching to your phone waiting for the next call or text. Put the phone away, somewhere you cannot see it and be free. Go engage in a conversation or activity that is actually physically in front of you.

Go outside, go exercise, go on a walk, a drive, go into town to see a movie or have dinner and leave the phone behind. I promise you it will be like taking a 100lbs weight off your back. You will experience a feeling of freedom I am sure you have not experienced in a long time.

Cell Phone Review – Samsung E2510

November 10th, 2011 by admin No comments »

Samsung E2510 can be simply understood as the best possible purchase meant for folks searching for some quality within a budgeted purchase. This Samsung offering has been smartly designed to offer all the basic and few extra functionalities but does away with the glam factor, as it is a basic-level, performance-oriented device.

Simple but the Samsung E2510 Delivers: from the outside, the phone exudes confidence and style with its well designed outlook. The screen is considered average at 1.9 inches and for such dimensions, a display resolution at 128 x 160 is still acceptable. The images captured by the VGA camera is still of acceptable quality. There is a pronounced silver lining that could be easily mistaken for a steel rimming that is associated with higher-end phones. The overall design elements are basic and emphasize usability rather than trying to impress you. The clamshell design ensures that that the maximum features are incorporated in the smallest possible space and though the keypad might look a bit clustered, it is easy-to-use.

To maximize space on the inside, all the volume controls, SD slots and the music control keys have been packed along the outer upper edge and are easy-to-handle after you get accustomed to them. As a budget cell phone, it does not come with many functions. But Samsung still manages to include some goodies to enhance usability. For example, the menu display theme could be chosen from the three standard ones that are offered – the basic Samsung Theme, purple colored Plum theme and blue primary-colored Celestial theme.

Appreciable Features: the VGA-quality camera has a basic pin-hole type lens that is found near the top horizontal surface of the phone and it can be easily used even when the phone is flipped open. For its low price, the Samsung E2510 still offers useful features like flash, night shooting mode, auto focus and red eye reduction functionalities. Image editing is possible through the Samsung phot editor. It has a dedicated music player which can only recognize music files in MP3 format. Bluetooth 2.0 is also offered and it can be used to download data from other mobiles or the PC. There is a micro-SD that can accommodate up to 2 GB of memory along with 15 MB of user memory.

Verdict: for its targeted audience, the Samsung E2510 does make a lot of sense, providing all the basic features along with some unexpected additions at a price that is hard to beat. There are few other phones which can compete at the same price bracket which offers Bluetooth connectivity, VGA camera and GPRS support.
